Miami Tech Line Maintenance Expands Operations in Miami-Dade County
MIAMI -- The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County's official economic development partnership, is pleased to announce that Miami Tech Line Maintenance, founded in 1993 and located at Miami International Airport, is expanding their current operations. The minority-owned company provides commercial, passenger and cargo aircraft line maintenance activities, as well as engine removal and installations. Miami Tech Line Maintenance will expand their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) - certified repair station with aircraft line maintenance capability at an existing hanger at Miami International Airport.
The Beacon Council assisted with the expansion of Miami Tech Line Maintenance with the Miami-Dade Targeted Jobs Incentive Fund (TJIF). Currently, the company employs 40 people, and occupies approximately 2,000 square feet of space. Over the next three years, Miami Tech Line Maintenance plans to hire 200 full-time employees with an average salary of $40,000. The company plans to make a new capital investment of $525,000 in Miami-Dade County for the purchase of new equipment and renovations to the 60,000 square foot hangar.
"We have been able to succeed and grow through the hard work of our employees and the strength of the Miami-Dade aviation industry," said Tomas Romero, President of Miami Tech Line Maintenance. "For the past 17 years, Miami International Airport has provided an excellent home for our company, and this expansion will allow us to continue to thrive."
"Companies like Miami Tech Line are vital to the success of our local aviation industry," said Frank R. Nero, President and CEO of The Beacon Council. "The services provided by the company, and the number of jobs they will create, have a major positive impact on the economy of Miami-Dade County."
The Beacon Council also assisted the company with Enterprise Zone incentives, and business contacts and referrals. Miami Tech Line Maintenance's expansion is a result of the Local Business Local Jobs Program. This program of The Beacon Council is designed to retain and expand local businesses, identify employment growth obstacles and formulate solutions, and recognize the local businesses' contributions to Miami-Dade County's economy.
"Miami Tech Line Maintenance's expansion will create a substantial number of high-paying jobs for the resident of Miami-Dade County," said Miami-Dade County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa. "The company's success further underscores the strength of our local economy, and validates the successful partnership of the County Commissioners, Mayor Carlos Alvarez, and the Beacon Council."
